Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) In the past two days, I've received dozens of messages on my Bandcamp feed, hinting to Bandcamp's zero-fee day on May 1st. I'm thankful for that, since it reminded me of quite some artists and labels I'm following, without being immediately aware of the fact. This was the case with the French "InFiné" label, so I flipped through their catalog, and found this awesome EP by Léonie Pernet. In a spontaneous decision, it became my 3rd no-fee purchase, after albums by "Sanguine Hum" and "Akaba". Favorite track: Les pères pleurent en écho.

about

Following her remarkable debut album ‘Crave’, Léonie Pernet returns with a brand new EP at the end of 2019 ‘The Craving Tape’. Composed of 5 tracks, 3 of which are new, Léonie Pernet brings us a message, like a report, on the world around us: "In a world where it is difficult to hear oneself think and feel, where social networks and continuous news channels scream louder every day than the day before, I needed to press pause and go get my inner orchestra. I heard strings, piano, voices, some percussion and a small battery-powered synthesizer. Instruments that will not go out when everything goes out."

about

Léonie Pernet Paris, France

Léonie Pernet's music is reverberated and cinematographic. It is as spacious as a place of worship. Her voice whispers - a call for breath. Léonie Pernet, as confined as she was when she composed, has a
taste for doors that open and take her elsewhere.
